End the filibuster on Estrada

Well, folks, the Sons of Satan are at it again. First, in committee, they buried Miguel Estrada's nomination to the D.C. Area Federal Court of Appeals. Now they are taking the unprecedented action of filibustering a vote on his nomination.For those of you who are not familiar with the Senate, confirmations require 51 votes. However, the Senate is designed to slow down legislation. Thus, any Senator can keep talking as long he can hold the floor or hand it over to someone who agrees with him. In effect, this keeps the issue from coming to vote. This is what is known as filibuster. Now in recent years, the Senate employed a new procedure known as Cloture. This means that a filibuster can be broken by a cloture vote of no less then 60 votes. This was designed to let the Senate to address other issues because if the cloture vote fails, the Senators opposing the legislation or nomination can give up the floor. They are no longer required to keep the Senate tied up. Filibusters used to be a very rare occasion because it meant the Senate could not adjourn nor could it move onto other business. This was a wise system. There are times when filibusters are justifiable, but if the issue is that important, then it's worth tying up the Senate. Now what we have is a tyranny by the minority which can dictate terms simply by keeping the Senate from voting.
Miguel Estrada is a brilliant Latino, born in Honduras, graduated Harvard Law Magna Cum Laude, and was an assistant solicitor general under the Clintonista Tyranny of the 1990's ! The American Bar Association, which usually does not give conservative (read: common sense) judges as high rating, gave him an AAA rating. This rating has always been the standard used by the left wing hypocrites to support all kinds of whack-job activist judges that have repeatedly confused the role of judiciary with that of Legislature and Executive branch of government.
So why is this taking place? It is taking place because the D.C. District Appeals Court is one step away from the U.S. Supreme Court. Estrada would most likely be considered for an opening in few years, especially since there is no Latino on the Court now.
While the left gives lip service to diversity, they cannot tolerate a minority nominee that does not shuffle on their liberal plantation. Heaven forbid that we should have a minority nominee that does not bow to the abortion industry. They can not tolerate a judge who believes his first duty is to enforce the law, or, if need be, apply or interpret, but never to write law from the bench.
We are now faced with this filibuster. With the nation and the President distracted by the impending military action against Soddom Insane, the dictator terrorist, this is not really making the news. The President cannot go on the stump to put an end to this in the middle of the war. And so it goes on, the Sons of Satan and the enemies of America and all humanity continue to block this nomination in order to keep abortionist-murdering scum in the business of killing innocent children, while exploiting the fear of troubled women to do so.
I encourage you to call your senator, find out his position, and tell him to stop the filibuster and allow an up-or-down vote on Miguel Estrada.
