FC = Fidel Castro or foolish Commie

June 21, 2003 ~ 4:09 p.m.

Hey, everyone. Have you all seen this? Its slightly old newsthe story broke last weekbut its absolutely brilliant. Two Miami disc jockeys played a prank on Fidel Castro, getting through to the Cuban president on the pretense of discussing the matter of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez luggage, lost while on a flight to Argentina. The DJs use recordings of Chavez voice. Then, after convincing Castro that theirs was a bona fide call, DJ Joe Ferrero lays into Castro and the game was up. Read Castros gentlemanly responses when he learns hes been fooled. (The duo also pulled a prank on Chavez himself before targeting Castro.)

Part of the transcript, as reported by The Associated Press:

Ferrero: Do you know about the lost luggage? It has sensitive material. President Chavez is extremely worried because of that. Now in Venezuela the situation is grave and it has something to do with this. Do you understand?

Castro: Correct.

Chavez: Correct.

Ferrero: Fidel, we have to investigate this.

Castro: Correct. I understand. We have to investigate into that.

Chavez: Good.

Ferrero: Your agents that were with you in Argentina must make an extensive search. And the people that are responsible for this must be told. Are you informed that this is a number one issue?

Castro: I am informed and absolutely in agreement.

Ferrero: So you agree with the (expletive) that you have done to the island, assassin?

Castro: What?

Ferrero: Enrique Santos and Joe Ferrero from Miami, El Zol 95.7 You fell just like Hugo Chavez.

Castro: What did I fall for you (expletive)? What did I fall for (expletive)?

Ferrero: All of Miami is listening to you.

Castro: What did I fall for, you big (expletive)?

Ferrero: What do you have to say?

Castro: (expletive) I won't say anything.... shove it in your mother's (expletive).

Ferrero: Miami is listening to you Fidel Castro.

Normally, I am not one to laud the pranks of shock jocks, but I thank Santos and Ferrero for this. Honestly now, who feels sorry for Fidel Castro?

Answer: Not the European Union. Not anymore.

The European Union criticized Castro for the imprisonment of 75 dissidents in April, under the charge of working with the U.S. government. Castro also had three ferry hijackers who had been on their way to the United States executed.

EU member states, horrified at this blatant abuse of human rights, immediately undertook political steps against Cuba, souring relations with Castros main trading partner. The European Union has been a consistent apologist for Castro in recent years, but it looks as if the 15-member body has finally seen the Cuban regime for the brutal dictatorship that it is. This month, the European Union voted unanimously to end high-level visits to the island, reduce cultural exchanges and invite Castro opponents to receptions at its Havana embassies.

Could it be that the United States has now got an ally to work with in its cold war against Castro?

Spain and Italy were especially vocal in their opposition to Castros actions, and Castro has blamed these two countries for the widening rift. Castro ripped into both leaders.

About Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, Castro labeled him a little Fuehrer with a mustache and Nazi-fascist ideology, also accusing him of playing a key role in the U.S. fascist plans for world domination.

As for Italy, which summoned its Cuban ambassador to complain about Castros anti-EU protests in Havana, Castro called Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi a clown and a fascist, likening him to Mussolini.

Madrid brushed off Castro, saying that Spain would not be drawn into a war of words with Castro, and Rome threatened to recall its Cuban ambassador. Both countries have pointed out that the EU vote to take political actions against Cuba was unanimous.

While I certainly have my issues with the EU, its alliance with the United States over the issue of the Castro regime makes for a refreshing change of policy and is much appreciated. Thank you, Europe.

As for you, Fidel: You are the fascist with the Nazi ideology. You are the clown and the fool. Even your former best friends want to beat you up. Washington should take advantage of this and militarily sweep you out of power, and then you can join Saddam Hussein among the worlds unemployed tin-pot Hitlers.

Castro, you fucking dumb-ass Commie bastard. Why arent you six feet under yet? Do not worryyour time will come.
