Absolutely masterful! October 17, 2005 ~ 3:01 p.m. Wow. Give it up for Jose Contreras. The former Yankees pitcher went the distance, all nine innings of them, in Game 5 of the ALCS against the LA Angels. Contreras, who had a tough time in New York, proved himself a strong pitcher above and beyond. The performance was more than adequate to give the Chicago White Sox their first American League Championship trophy and World Series appearance since 1959. I don't think we'll see the likes of that again in our lifetimes. M.E.M.
